A diverse mix of Greensboro residents spent over a year planning and organizing The HIVE. Its purpose is to provide a space and facilities for communities within Greensboro and the surrounding area to develop stronger and deeper social connections, engage in substantive dialogue, and explore progressive social and democratic change.
Partnering with us are the Fund for Democratic Communities, Sustainable Health Choices, the Farm Labor Organizing Committee, Food Not Bombs, the Bike Me! Collective, the American Friends Service Committee, and Them5, all of whom maintain offices (and work areas) at The HIVE. [More information...]
The center of The HIVE is our main room which is available to community groups and organizations for both public and private events. Since opening our doors on October 1, 2007, The Hive has hosted film screenings, community dialogs on race, politics, ecological and energy sustainability, collective living, grassroots democracy building, and much much more. The Vision Statement provides the guidelines for event hosting at The HIVE. [Event calendar]
